Beautiful photos. Unfortunately, Chile has recent volcano activity that has caused a lot of havoc. My good friend Stephan Weber lost his home, along with 4000 others, when a volcano innundated the town of Chaiten with ash.

Indeed! Awesome photos & thanks for sharing them. Flying from Santiago Chile to the jet airport jumping-off spot for Donini's bivy spot shows some great semi-active volcanos. (left-side going down, right-side going up.) Unfortunately, the plane flew right over the top of some.
