I'm gonna be in Joshua Tree for a few days at the end of March in Hidden Valley Campground. Anybody has any recommended climbs there? This will be my first time in J Tree and I have a guide book on the area, but was wondering if anybody could give me a list or something of some good routes that I could tackle? Nothing too crazy though, like I said this is going to be our first time there. Thanks in advance!

Unless you're a strong trad climber I would recommend starting low in the grades to get used to the ratings here. Then have at it!

give a grade that you think you can climb and maybe you will get better responses.

I heard there are 12 good routes there. Start with Double Cross.

Too many to count. One fave that sticks out: Run For Your Life, 10b, moderate but run-out to the first bolt--like 20 ft. or so of 5.7, then well protected to the top on bolts. Awesome position, nice and shady in the afternoon.
