Hola Amigos! I am hoping to get some helpful insight from other climbers who have had the latarjet surgery to fix a torn-up shoulder. If anyone has had this surgery or has any experience with this operation I would really appreciate input!

Background-
In November 2013 I had an arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in my left shoulder (sustained from kayaking). My shoulder healed great and I got back to climbing harder than before after tons of PT and rehab. About a month ago now while skiing my left shoulder dislocated again. MRI revealed 1/3 tear of labrum repair, fracturing of humerus and "denting" of the shoulder socket bone. My surgeon said that currently my injury is not terrible but suggests a latarjet surgery to fully stabilize the joint as I am a competitive athlete that wants to continue preforming at a high level demanding a lot out of my shoulder.

Many thanks for any help and insight!

I forgot to post a few questions in my original post. If you have had this surgery how has has your recovery been? Are you climbing back near or at 100%? How is the strength and ROM in shoulder? Anything you would suggest in hindsight?

Thanks and all the best!
