Climb Talk Radio & Rick Accomazzo.

Now a recorded interview: listen here!
http://www.soundcloud.com/climbtalk/rick-accomazzo-and-carson-wilde-1-30-2015

Ricky Accomazzo is a leading light of 1970s California free climbing and one of the first Stonemasters. Accomazzo partnered with other vanguard climbers such as John Long, Richard Harrison, Tobin Sorensen, and Mike Graham to bring the clean climbing & free climbing revolutions to fruition.

Throughout the 1970s, Ricky was known for combining his thin hold face climbing skills with an exceptional mental focus. He repeatedly brought these qualities to the fore, putting up high-level FAs of routes involving very nervy runouts. From the FFA of the much fabled Vampire at Taquitz Rock to his arrival on the international alpine scene in Chamonix, this man created a lot of history.

Cheers,
Roy

This is Boulder CO Mike Brooks' baby. He's been hosting Climb Talk Radio for 5 or 6 years!

Here's the two shows, prior to Ricky's, which I've recently helped to produce:

For hundreds more (currently 167 archived shows), go here and search climbtalk (one word) in the upper left hand search window & press enter:
http://www.archive.org/details/CLIMBTALK1162015

Here's just one example of what/who you might find amongst 4 pages of archived shows ... Huntley Ingalls ... a great interview BTW:

Or ... Arno Ilgner:

AND:
Once you know who's on the list, try searching them by name in YouTube for video archiving ... (unless they were a call-in like Peter Haan)

Huh just today I was thinking of the guy who didn't want me to use his name in 86or 88
mike brooks?
Mike brooks, ball cap and all ! we met in eldo saw me swing seconding the Diving board in the rain & sent me up Taggers to join Alison Sheets at the belay. . .
As I think I remember I cruxed out and grabbed a hanging rappel line!
Does any one else remember a story about A Kid, Alison Sheets, her rappel line & Mike Brooks? on Taggers roof?

Gnome: 'never heard that one from Allison.
Yes ... 'could be some swing potential on the Diving Board!

Be sure to check out the Huntley Ingalls interview. He's très lucid!

Important stuff for the historical record!

Hear some wonderfully candid reportage of John Long & "Spatula Talk". Get the inside scoop on Bachar's feelings about climbing vs college. Follow Ricky to Chamonix w/ Mike Graham, Jack Roberts & Tobin Sorenson.

It was great to hear about those times again, a lot of cool stories and some I've never heard. Rick was so well spoken and a wealth of climbing knowledge, then and now. Spatula talk, Bridwell, Chamonix, the bouldering and climbing stories there, all warming to the heart.
