I have one of those. It was a torture device.

It went on loan when I ponied up for a Gamicci ledge in the early 80's. I expect my buddy will send it back when he's through with it or when they clean out his storage locker when he dies.

You got the spreader bar that goes with it? A friend dropped his off the Column in the late 70's. I got a B.A.T. one that is not as nice.

Yep have the bar. I don't think this thing has been out of the sack since around 1980.

Owned a Forrest Wall Womb for many years and finally tossed it out in 1999 when the nylon started smelling like decomposed vomit. Never did get a good night sleep in that thing....

To funny they stank. . . of feet,+?, . . from the second time I used mine,
I actually tried to use it a bunch, and did , almost lost feeling on one side, when, not set just off horizontal.
Then in Red Rocks I used it to make my partner climb faster by pulling it out, you could smell it, at belays. Saying "it's OK We can Bivy!". She let me lead.through the night.

I remember always loving the thing when I first got in, getting the spreader bar right and just thinking how cool it was to be hanging on the side of a cliff. Then as time would pass my side touching the wall would begin to get cold, the spreader bar would shift, my shoulders would get squeezed and we had the start of a long night. Getting out of the beast in the morning was never any fun either. State of the art, mid 70's.
