My friend who was just behind said it was monster slab and went almost 2 km down to the valley over the clifs.

Same time there was also another accident on the NF of Tour ronde where Irish snowboarder fell all the way down and died. Really sad day in the Chamonix. Rest in peace.

Damn.

Feckin avalanches. Being careful doesn't always help either. Sounds like his buddies did a hell of job getting him out quick. What a shame.

Very sad. And yes, impressive rescue effort by his friends.

My heart goes out to his loved ones, family and friends as well as the Patagonia family and the communities of Tahoe and Chamonix.

Prayers for all as individuals deal with grief and loss, but also hopefully finding some comfort in knowing someone that lived their life to the fullest.

Peace, Lynne L.
