So I am putting this out there first: it seems like the BD rainfly is better.

So I am rather unhappy with my Metolius rainfly, mostly because it has poor ventilation and no doors. Does anybody feel the same way, or do these seem like large shortcomings of a tent?

So here is my crazy idea and question. Has anybody modified their Metolius rainfly? I am talking about buying a heavy duty zipper, sewing it it with extra material to cover up the zipper and then seam-sealing the new stitching? Is this crazy or could it work if you knew what you were doing?

Justin322,

I had no idea your modification question would lead to this, but thanks!!!

THANKS FOR THE LINK COUCHMASTER.

Mark Hudon,

Your trip report is the most inspiring piece I've ever read on Supertopo. I'm going to read it again later today and then read all the comments.

WOW!
