The Access Fund head guy just asked me to post this and i said "yes" because I really believe in this organization and all the amazing work they do for climbers. SuperTopo is a corporate member and I am a personal member... I think, damn, might have let my membership lapse. ill fix that right now.

Anyway... I got distracted from my main point which is ... please support these guys!

From the Access Fund:

I’ve got a favor—would you take 5 minutes and help the Access Fund today? Again this year, they are having a special week long member drive to put them in the best position to continue protecting America’s climbing next year. You are an important part of the climbing community, and they could really use your help. Here’s what you can do:

1. If you’re not already a member or your membership has expired, would you join or renew today? Until December 19th, you can join or renew for 20% off!
2. Would you help spread the word by passing the attached graphic along to your climbing friends and partners and asking them to support the Access Fund? Send an e-mail, post it on Facebook, or make a couple of phone calls—whatever works best for you. We are trying to drive people to www.accessfund.org/weneedyou to sign up.
3. If you’re still looking for a holiday gift for the climbers in your life, please consider purchasing an Access Fund gift membership, which is also discounted 20% through December 19th.

The Access Fund has had a fantastic year! The victories in the attached graphic are just a small sample of all the work they achieved this year, thanks in part to the dedicated support of climbers and advocates like you. But the sad reality is that only 1% of climbers are Access Fund members. Think of how much more they could accomplish if that number were doubled.

I appreciate your support and are proud to call you a friend of the Access Fund!

I got the same email blast from one of our local AF coordinators. Time for me to re-up, too.

Always.

AF helped me out tremendously when we formed a group, The organizations grew up together. Had a chance to be on the Board - very stressful and gratifying. They make the most out of the small dollars and small number of climbers in the country. They need the numbers and deserve the support. We got to stick together.

An example of the many successes the Access Fund had last year was at Golden Cliffs, Colorado, the heavily used, semi-urban sport crag above the Coors plant in Golden. After a 20-year effort, the AF permanently preserved access to this area, thanks to a generous local land owner, Mayford Peery, and a host of dedicated volunteers and staff, including Rico Thompson, Becky Hall, and Chris Archer.

I am very proud to be a supporter and ask you all to send whatever you can to help the AF keep us all climbing in 2015.

The Access Fund recently helped Grand Junction-based Western Colorado Climber's Coalition, Inc. acquire some great crags in Unaweep Canyon, by loaning WCCC $134K (low interest) from the Access Fund's Land Conservation Campaign Revolving Loan Fund. Support the Access Fund, and WCCC could use some contributions too!url="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Western-Colorado Climbers-Coalition"]
