Look, it's bullshit that you talk about a kickstarter rebolting money collection effort in your post and then put a link that goes right to a site that rents climbing gear.

Just be honest that you rent gear and give us the link. As no one else is doing so now, it's an interesting idea and I wish you well on it. I'd offer to you that renting portaledges, haul bags and wall gear (pins, pullys etc etc) should be examined as well, you can probably make a fortune on just the Euros alone who fly over to climb the Captain and have limited space to carry crap. Buy used, but serviceable gear, cause it will get trashed.

People here tend to want to plug their own gear, and they can replace bolts whenever they see it. You got the wrong audience for this question I'd suspect. Noobie gym climbers just venturing out to the outside areas want safety, there's a lot of them out there.

Wanna "make climbing more safe". Making it safer brings more climbers that would otherwise find another way to spend their time. The more climbers, the more accidents. The more accidents, the more injuries and death.

The premise of your kickstarter campaign is flawed.

HA! Welcome to Supertopo!

I too was wondering about all these articles about bolt failure. Let's see a link or ten.

I know I don't get out as much anymore, but I haven't seen a bolt failure in 38 years.....

remember the interview with Croft and Honnold? Croft thought Honnold was nuts for occasionally clipping a daisy chain to a bolt while soloing because bolts break.
