^^^^ Indeed....these silly public lands would be in such better cared for under private, corporate interest. The Uh-merri-kin way!

VVV Lawdy-knows that there's no waste or inefficiency in private corporations. Sell 'em off!

In no way would I want them to be privatized but would rather have competent people hired to manage our resources. That is our $3M dollars and our land!

(From the caption in the article:)

"Under the watch of the National Park Service,"

Man, that's the kind of snarky comment you'd expect from FauxNews on a subject like this. Who says NPR doesn't fit the anti-government, FauxNews media spin?

"The park didn't do the proper archaeological studies before installing an intricate boardwalk system that now encircles ancient burial mounds that are shaped like bears and birds."

....and virtually every time the NPS (or USFS) does a careful NEPA study to make damn sure that all resources are carefully considered for a project, there's endless bitching from user groups about how stoooopid and time wasting those studies are...not to mention lawsuits from multiple directions trying to steer the project in one direction or another. Just can't win, I guess.

Competency is low on the list of prequisites required to climb the pecking order in most organizations...People skills like boot-licking and back-stabbing will usually get you a promotion sooner..
