One rap of 1" nylon sling around your waist.

$1 dollar.

Cheap.

Tucker Tech used this type of harness for years.

He even did El Cap routes like this.

Only a real climber can do this.

All the rest are not real .......

HAHAHA, oh WBraun!

That sounds like it would bruise, and I can't have that! It would ruin my carefully cultivated tan...

And here, I thought that I would be a real climber when I meet up a few guys at the crag (at least 4) and they are all wearing LYCRA!!

Lycra's coming back guys...!

Cheers

Lycra's modern appeal does seem to be expanding, LS.

^^^We sure don't need that!

Either way, 1" nylon tubular or Lycra spandex, the nylon boys get some of your purse.

Your downward spiral needs a touch of colorful lycra to accentuate your rugged countenance. Lady Scarlett might help you adjust by clothing you in colorful tights to cushion your decline. After all, climbing IS a fashion statement!

wore shoes so tight that the little toe toenails went bye bye!!
I climbed a lot in those green vices back in the day
I think they were??Razors?..by five ten? any way the pinky toenails took a hike for ten years
and now having grown back are a frightful sight.
Given the previous post I won't sicken with pics </;-{D

I totally skipped the Lycra era when it was happening, so embracing it now would not be an exercise in nostalgia. It would, however, require a certain ability to disregard Lycra's ability to showcase the ravages of time. It is clear from your post that I need a downward spiral pattern to accentuate reality and remind me, in those moments of misplaced optimism, about my increasingly precarious place in the universe.
