They sure seem to be all over....them and Red Rocks, Castle Rocks, Pyramids, and Diamonds. You'd think they'd start requiring some originality, or some such. I can think of at least 5 states with a Red Rock State Park.

D'oh.
Hey, Reilly, is that a Cathedral, a Diamond, or Pyramid? It looks like a finalist for any of those.

There are also a few in Europe. I've always liked this one, in Milano

"Now Asia, Africa leave me — Europe, seizing, inflates me;
To organs huge, and bands, I hear as from vast concourses of voices,
Luther’s strong hymn, Eine feste Burg ist unser Gott;
Rossini’s Stabat Mater dolorosa;
Or, floating in some high cathedral dim, with gorgeous color’d windows,
The passionate Agnus Dei, or Gloria in Excelsis."

Could be that mountains are the archetype for cathedrals, and calling the real peaks cathedrals just completes the circle.

Here's one cathedral, well a large church, that was designed intentionally with a mountain theme: volcanic.

Go-B's is my favorite, but I think I'd have called it something(anything?) else....;-)

The one in Tuolumne holds a special place in my heart; the first pitch was my then 14 year old daughter's first trad lead. I selfishly took the rest.

This Cathedral was my old stomping grounds and where I learned to climb (don't hold that against it.)

I'd like to get out there....Cathedral Ledge looks & sounds like a Grand place. Still wish they'd had a bit more imagination in naming, though.

COOL mountains like those just cry out for better names. Maybe it's just me, but I think "Cathedral" sells them short. Such a shame.

Plenty of color in the needles cathedrals. Eyetooth, east and West gruesome, Empire State building, kayyam, wicked picket, freaks foot, freaks fright are all individual spire names. Something like 85 more in the group.

What's up skulley? Are u at facelift?

How's things, Mike? No, I bailed before it started.....smoke got me down. Back to work this week.

How many Citadels are there? That's a better name, at least I think so.
