Has anyone downclimbed the north ridge of Mt. Conness? I am wondering the feasibility of climbing up the west ridge and descending via north ridge.

Yes, a gal posted a thread about it here a couple years ago, and a guy did west ridge and downclimbed North Ridge just two weekends ago when we had done North Ridge.

Up the west and down the north is a great way to go. Very straight forward, I highly recommend it!

The good part of doing it that way is you would actually get to climb upward at the technical crux.

Saw a spritely lass doing it a few weeks ago while we were going up it. Asked her how it was, she said casual.

Not only is it feasible, but I think this is the best way to do it. If I remember correctly the crux of climbing up the North Ridge is actually a downclimb and this section is probably easier coming down the ridge. Regardless it's a fantastic linkup with tons of great climbing and a beautiful hike out by Saddlebag Lake. Have fun!!

It's feasible, but be swift. It's a long day for most.
If you are roping up for the west ridge be sure to climb fast and simul most, if not all of it, so you have enough time to negotiate the north ridge.

I've done it exactly this way as well, and it was actually my first time on the N. Ridge. I'd climbed the W. ridge previously and noticed this possible link up. It's an easy downclimb, and went very quickly.
I still haven't been up the North Ridge, but loved the West Ridge to North Ridge loop!

Any "bivy sites" along the North Ridge?

You can bivy anywhere you want, it's just a function of how much misery you are willing to tolerate.
Hope that's helpful!

How about this new question:
Any decent/so-so bivy sites along the North Ridge? We don't need much comfort but sharing a 1x1' ledge would not be ideal....

A much better time would be had going up to the Northridge of North Peak up the Northridge of Mount Conness and then up the West Ridge of Mt Conness
you can sleep when you get to the Mobil

I'm sure the OP figured out his or her plans long ago, but I think the convenience depends on where you start and end. If you end on the N. Ridge, you still have to navigate back around Saddlebag Lake, or hope you catch the ferry by the end of the day. Personally, I thought the descent down past the Carnegie Station (after climbing the N. Ridge) was beautiful. Maybe if you don't want to retread that same ground if you've come up that way then I guess it makes sense.

Any decent/so-so bivy sites along the North Ridge? as I recall, there is a decent ledge at the bottom of the 5.6 downclimb(rap),
when going up.

West ridge up North down is a long day, esp. if you start from Sawmill. Comparable difficulty, but more exposure on the West. I have soloed West up and North down separately. Very doable, but if you fall you'll die (probably). Roping up will require you go very fast. The hike out from the North base is absolutely stunning, and hiking around Saddlebag doesn't really take that long. You can do that part in the dark no problem, but bring a headlamp.
