How far in is Lake Ediza? Looks like a long way on the map but I don't know that area very well.

I need to get your map. On mine its more like 4 inches. Thats way too far for me to hump a boat.

You can take a tow rope, pr of water skis, and a VW to Tenaya Lake and have loads of fun, too, or so I've heard...

Humping a boat and a paddle out to Young's Lakes made a nice warm up before the West Ridge of Conness!

Interestingly, last month, my friend and I were headed up to Clyde Spires and a couple arrived at Echo Lake with a canoe and oars in their packs. We were shocked that someone would haul their stuff up just to set off in an alpine lake.

Well it made sense the further (up) away we became. We could see that they had it all to themselves and were enjoying the scenery and solitude.

I looked at my friend and said, "that's me when I get tired of this climbing nonsense. I am going to be a Lake Bagger".
