Hey, Ron, I have it on gud authority that the USFS paid a pro hunter to shoot
a Puma and her kitten because she was preying on Mt Sheep. That kinda
pisses me off.

Ron, if you are defending shooting dog treed mountain lions you are way off base. Any so called "sportsman" who does so is a ball less piece of shite in my book.

California law guarantees mismangement of California mountain lions and all wildlife connected with them. But go ahead, criticize those who point out the law's stupidity.

Ron,

Are you arguing that LEO's should be required to follow ALL of the laws us peons have to follow? Maybe not allow LEO's to type on their computers while driving?

I figured a former LEO would understand the difference between hunting, and performing an official duty. Maybe y'all really are as slow witted as I I thought...

Ron,

Ever read the Fish & Game Regulations for hunting with dogs in California? I didn't think so. Maybe sober up, read the definition of irony and the regulations, and get back to us, m'kay?

It was a California Fish and Game official who shot the lion. Under Fish and Game Regulation 265(b)(3), they are allowed to do that, even though dogs have been outlawed for as#@&%es like you and your idiot hunting friends.

265(b)(3) Take of Depredating Mammals. The use of dogs is permitted for pursuing/taking depredating mammals by federal and county animal damage control officers or by permittees authorized under a depredation permit issued by the department.

Holy sh#t...

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/lion/lion_faq.html

 My questions were answered here...

1. Are mountain lions protected or endangered in California?

Answer: Mountain lions are not threatened nor endangered in California. In fact, the lion population is relatively high in California and their numbers appear to be stable. Mountain lions are legally classified as "specially protected species". This has nothing to do with their relative abundance and does not imply that they are rare.

2. When might a forest worker need to shoot a mountain lion?

Answer: Under the CDFW's Public Safety Wildlife Guidelines, an animal is deemed to be a public safety threat if there is “a likelihood of human injury based on the totality of the circumstances.” Factors that are considered include the lion's behavior and its proximity to schools, playgrounds and other public gathering places. The determination of whether an animal is a public safety threat is made by the CDFW or local law enforcement personnel on the scene.

Oh.... so...

3. what is ron blathering on about?

//Answer: I personally think this is the reason, here...

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/mountain-lion-suspected-of-attacking-boy-killed-in-california/

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Wildlife officials in Northern California shot and killed a mountain lion Wednesday and say they are virtually certain it is the one that attacked a 6-year-old boy along a hiking trail three days earlier.
//

ok....

4. Then what do "they" do when they find a mountain lion to be a public safety threat?

The CDFW or law enforcement personnel on scene will secure the area, then locate and kill the offending animal as soon as possible. The CDFW does not relocate mountain lions that are a threat to public safety.

ok ron....

Where is your question coming from again?

Are you upset that an innocent mountain lion has been dispatched?

Are you upset that a rule has been broken in your eye's and you really only want justice? ... and for what purpose?

Hope this clears up why I think this post/thread should be on the first world issues thread...

What is ironic is "I-Ron-A" set out BAIT and caught something--he wasn't really trolling his bait, either. It was just sitting there!

"So, Mister Woods Pig, you placed these baits yourself, with no help. Why did you choose to do so with no permit from the Federal Government, or even a current NV sucker-fishing license?," asked Judge Wapner.

"And will you kindly explain why you used a bag of mountain lion jerky for bait. Everyone knows that's the worst crap imaginable next to eating your own sh!t."

"Well, your honor..."

"Enough of this! I'm taking all your plusses and dumping them in the Taco Toilet and you'll have to start fresh. If you ever get caught actually trolling, the sh!t's really gonna hit the ban. Next case, bailiff."

You mention how there was only one who you think took the the question seriously..... Who happened to agree with you...... right?

Folks on the right tend to equate rational thought with belief. Then again most on the right have faith based beliefs that they hold sacrosanct regardless of the fact that a belief based on faith is not a belief based on rational thought.
