Opening day this morning. Being broke as a joke i decided not to go for mourning doves, but rather for EURO doves in the hood here. Put out a bait pile of used seed from my boid Max's cage to sucker in some of those invasive nasty euro doves. The ruger elite .177 cal pellet gun was shooting quite well. I got four phat euros in the bag.

They will be cleaned, breasted, dunked in a marinade of BBQ suace, then bacon wrapped and cooked in the oven...mmmmmmmmm

Sadly,, only english sparrows are legal to kill, and they taste like haggis.. And with a breast the size of your thumbnail, it would take a hunert to feed one.

and skiski seems to know nothing about eating small wild game birds. Just TRY and cook up "legs" or "thighs" or backs of DOVES LMAO!.

Sadly, I have yet to pick up an upland game stamp for this season. Dove is not really my thing but blue grouse and quail, mmm mmm. That is good stuff.

Skiski,,you just waddle on down to the grocery store for your chicken..And YES ,, shooting INVASIVE species does indeed make me happy as a clam. Not only am i feeding myself, but also doing the natural wildlife and mourning doves a great favor.

Especially wrapped in bacon, on a skewer, with red peppers and onions. If only I didn't have to drive to bishop or independence. All those bastards hang out in the mammoth, no shooting, zone.

I used to dove hunt in high school with a buddy in local fields. I used a Winchester pellet fun, thing was a cannon and you had to spend a good hour sighting the scope. Rarely would get anything but I remember the rush of "the hunt" being super intense.

Not my thing now, hasn't been for a decade. I'd love to pick up game hunting, love deer and elk meat. I better eat the foot and eyeballs lest I tick off some white chick.

We ALL kill animals. In our crops, our meat diets, our leather climbing shoes. There is a VERY slim percentage of those (Ksolem?) who have a large and diverse enough farm to sustain themselves year-round, a few more who shop from friends farms.

I think I'll eat an extra cheeseburger today. I may not even finish it - they are so filling. Email your vial of tears to 1700 Leave People The F*#k alone Avenue.

Doves are delish!

Anyone who can't kill and clean what they eat with love and respect for the life that they are taking does not deserve to eat.

So my mom? We had a chicken salad a few weeks ago. I don't think she can pluck a chicken...

Eurasian collared doves are like mourning doves on steroids.

And being invasive, they can be taken any where by any means.

Hummingbirds are hard to hit???

You just need a right weapon, like a tennis racquet.
