I just kinda had an idea. My schwanky new two man BD portaledge is just kinda sitting around right now. My knee still ain't right and I have no walls on the horizon. I would just be stoked to help somebody else get their Bigwall on.

And all kinds of folks are getting wall stoked, asking to buy ledges for their aspirations on the Big Stone. But many first timers or sometimesers can't swing the cost of a ledge.

How bout I rent mine?

So here's my offer for MICRONUT'S PORTALEDGE RENTAL INC.

You pay for shipping.
You give me a 200.00 deposit either cash or cashier's check
Pay me 75.00 for your trip.
Return it in good shape or pay for any repairs like a gentleman. Or gentlewoman.
I return your deposit when it comes back.
I live in Fresno so you can pick it up if you want to save shipping costs.

I send you this thing and you get to rage your wall like a boss!

So for as little as 75.00 + shipping you can get up your wall in style and not have to shell out 11 hundo for a phat ledge like this one or sleep in a shoulder crushing hammock like it's 1971. Unless you're into that kinda thing.

email me here if you're interested

And spread the word!

Scott

In theory, this is a pretty cool idea. Buena Suerte.

Also, just texted you a picture of me in a thong doing the crow pose.

I think you'll make more money if you leave it in your garage and register it on airbnb.com :)

But then you might need to provide toilet access. Or give them a poop tube?

Might want to look into some liability coverage on that, or at least get a bomber waiver printed up. Just sayin'.

So you're selling your ledge for $275.00? That's a killer deal.

Rent or buy, great deal!

Maybe you could rent it out to Adam Gill - Lord of the Gays! [do you guys remember the banner that Neil and Callum put under their ledge when we climbed Continental Drift?]

This Just In,

That's funny man.

I will be doing a thorough vetting of potential renters. Trust me, there will be profiling involved. It seems most climbers believe in Karma, so stealing my portaledge would be way bad juju.

There is a good likelihood that I will be in need of a ledge this October, unless someone in Bishop has one I can borrow. . .I was thinking about buying one, but would obviously prefer not to!

Locker: Is that some sort of rubber piton??? I can't really see how it works, do you hand place it or use a hammer? What's the best method for getting it deep into a tight crack??? How do you store it??? I don't see any way to clip it to my harness!!!

Seriously guys? A double portaledge is not worth having a pissed off dentist chase you down. That can get real medieval real quick.

This is a Very cool idea! I'll be interested to see how it works out. Makes me want to do some more el cap routes...

Should I rent out my bouldering pads? It's gonna cost more to use the vintage Fish maxipad, once stolen in Las Vegas...

Ha! Just had my first taker. I decided to loan it rather than rent it. The trip sounded too rad and they need the gas money. The ledge is being put in the mail today for a wall up in BC.

Had my attorney write up a waiver, though none was needed as the BD inherent risk pamphlet was still attached and no money has changed hands.
Just one dude loaning another dude a surfboard basically. Stoked for these guys and glad to help. Its better than sitting in my barn all Fall.
