It had been a year yesterday since Blitzo left us.
I was to climb with my brother, Chazbro, and nephew in law Bryce, on Devils Tower.
Bryce hadn't climbed it before, and it was the day before his birthday, and hesaboutto be a first time dad. Of course Blitzo was gonna come along and be part of life's continuity!

Blitzo graciously took on belay duties;

Anyone else hang with billy yesterday?

Hard to believe yesterday marked a full year since his passing. Many days are still really tough. Sometimes sadness triggered by an event but often it just creeps in during the silence.
Blitzo was my first real loss of a close friend. Grandparents have passed and Russ' parents but, for me, Blitzo marked the first real & deep loss. Countless hours had been spent with him either talking, laughing or just having him around as a fixture in our home. The joking, often at his expense wasn't lost even in his final hours. He was an amazing sport for such things, perhaps because he knew we loved him.
Conversations of Blitzo jobs are still active and just last week was mourning the loss of the worlds best dog sitter.
Time has passed but the sorrow felt by his friends has not. Miss you Bloot

I miss him! I felt his presence this past week on a climbing trip I took. He brought my partner and I together in a weird and mystical way. Thanks, B. Love always.

Still got Blitzo in the bed stand. Haven't had the energy to get out and settle on a place of rest.
Sorry I couldn't have been more of a friend for you

Billy's been in my climbing pack ever since his memorial last fall. As long as I'm a climber he's always going to be there along with me wherever I go.
But I grabbed another tin at the end of the memorial and will be releasing that up in Tuolumne later this month. On Blitzo's Balcony. He'll be happy there. Want to spread him in a place he loved...but just don't ever want to be without him every time I go out climbing. Best of both worlds I guess.
Will take pics and post up then.
Jay - thanks for showing Billy so many amazing times this year.
Sooze - loved your message, so heartfelt. Agree completely.
Roots - proud place for Billy! Nice!
Siouxanie - oh man he'd be so happy.
