You know, summits are great, approaches are pretty and full of excitement and hanging belays in the high and wild places are dreamy, but my favorite part of alpine trips is the last day in camp......just sitting around and doing nothing.

Waking in the alpine zone with no agenda for the day. Black coffee hissing in the jetboil. Snacks. A good book. BS'ing about the climb you just did or climbs you'll someday do.

Sometimes doing nothing out there is the absolute best part.
