Was climbing in the Gunks this weekend. Really nice and quite. Then loud and horrible noises every 5-10 min come rolling by.

No need to be that loud...

My next door neighbor is a Sherif, rides a HD for work.

He starts it up at like 5:45 am..... I can hardly hear it running... sounds like most BMW's.

I always thought that there was a MAX sound limit....

First time I bolt on a loud exhaust on the Honda and go riding... Bam... pulled over, had to go fix the thing.

I wonder why no enforcement now.

Decorative masculinity... Excluding the old time Hells Angels, Gypsy Jokers and Barhoppers of my youth. Merced was on the way to Bass Lake, so 17th street was the place to be for watching the Huns roar through town. Impressed me.

There is this dork that rides up and down main st. Super loud. I haven't seen him in a while maybe he finally got a ticket. We see a lot of Germans rolling through town playing biker gang. They're kinda funny and less obnoxious.

recently i was paying duty at
the walk up a.t.m.,
and a fella rides up
onto the sidewalk,
and into the covered area.

i could tell right away
he was real bad asse,
because only a hero
would have the balls
to ride onto the sidewalk.

it was super loud
as it potato-patato idled.

i was super tempted to unzip
my pants and piss on his bike
to return the utter disrespect
but since i quit drinking
i'm pretty much a pussy,
so i just walked on down the
hall, and i came to a room,
and i looked inside.

father. yes son. i want to k...

the scums that blabber around
town obnoxiously on their motored cycles
are making up valor;
and they are useless aspects of our
bloated society.

It is impressive when a big group of outlaws rolls through. Hard not to be when an army goes by.

Those hogs put a damper on our Devils Tower ascent once, then I realized Sturgis was not too far away. Could not enjoy the peace of the place.

Haha, if you are climbing in a place a Harley can be heard, you are not in the peace and quite zone.

I get what you are saying. I am a "rider" but I have a pretty quiet V-strom and through neighborhoods I keep the rpm and speed low (not that it can go much faster than 115 mph). I don't consider my ride anything more than a fuel efficient and fun way of getting around. Loud pipes would be nice to keep less fuel efficient SUV owners from pushing me onto the median shoulder as they try to pass the other SUV while on a cell phone on their way to Walmart. Those high pitched crotch-rocket rides also sound pretty cool too from 5 miles away. But it is a free society. Most non Harley riders wave to each other, especially in the spring(unless you have some hotsh&t Ducati sport bike, they are in their own club). Harley riders only wave to other Harley riders. I guess its like Trad vs. Sport??? I think its a breed that feel they need to define themselves as one or the other, buy all the cool sh%t that strongly defines themselves, and then spray themselves all over everyone. The reality is its not much different than a pretty girl or good looking guy on a scooter doing the same thing enjoying the same experience on a slightly/dramatically different plane. D#@&%e-bag??? Ignorant possibly.

Sounds like some climbers?

I always thought that there was a MAX sound limit....

Was having a nice lunch on the bluff overlooking the beach in Laguna with me
Mum when these two Harleys pulled up on the street about 20' away. They
can't just pull up and park, oh no, they gotta park with a good goose of
the throttle. Then the morons realized they had parked in a No Parking zone.
I guess reading comprehension isn't required for the moto license? They
had to fire them up again to move across the street. Then they had to do it
again, and then again! I'm not exagerrating!

All of this reminds me that there was, ironically, a motorcycle cop in Laguna
about 7-8 years ago who carried a decible meter and was making a fortune for
the city off of Harleys. Then there was the inevitable uproar and he got
sent down the road or maybe to a desk. So why don't tools in the National
Parks have decible meters? The hypocrites have their panties all bunched
up now about drones in the parks but IMO Harleys are a greater nuisance.
