If that's a "for real" video it's pretty amazing. Can't believe how both bears climbing moves were so similar to the ones we as humans use to move up the rock.
Bachar, a firm believer in being able to down climb in difficult situations, would have loved the cub's skills.

Pretty sweet! Thanks, lynnie

I was hoping the little guy would "Honnold" after he got on the ledge.

It's very likely the bears are climbing to get away from people, based on the background in the video. Anyway, that's pretty amazing to watch.

Interesting to see how the cub gets a little sketched out, and downclimbs a bit before sending.

Well, there goes my excuse about my diminished power-to-weight ratio (which, currently, is in trouble both because of the denominator and the numerator).

Great post!

Quite incredible. I would think claws would be slippery (e.g. dog on hardwood) but I guess the hooking power overcomes this.

Great video, and nice moves by both bears. Of course bears can climb - strong claws and super powerful arms.

love the style of that baby bear. Goes to show that native vertical movement is universal.
