I have two full sets these Stubai Trangos that I purchased about a year ago. They weigh a TON! I showed them to the Nut Master and he responded...
Bonjour Simon,
Wow… Hats off Simon! The Stubai Trangos were produced in Austria, in 1987. These nuts were never popular as they almost do not work. Now they are “rather” rare. My modest collection consists of the #1 and #3… so you can easily imagine how your message drove me mad!
I have attached two pages from a Stubai catalog 1992. In fact there is very little literature about the Trangos, and they were not patented.

All i see are questions.
Do they slot into cracks like a traditional nut?
Why are the teeth on the non operative end?
What is the black stuff?
What does that warning label say? "These will kill you!"
Did a set of these ever make it up El Cap?
.........
So many questions.
Nice find. Those really look funky.

^you know what happens to people that propagate that image, dontcha Moose?
I really want to see someone lead a pitch with just those. Funny thing is that although they may resemble rubbery metal suppositories they might actually hold some weight if they did not twist.

I have never bothered to place one but I have fingered enough nuts in my day to know these are 100%
U N S T A B L E !
The biggest one must weigh close to a pound and clearly the rubber would be gone in about six placements.
BTW... both sets were new in sealed bags. Never even seen a crack.

Check out these nuts! Look somewhat similar but lacking metal. My buddy bought one when he went to Elbsandstein (spelling). They work remarkably well!

Looks like you scored! I can't believe Stephane only has a 1/3 what you have. I have one of them. I forgot where I got it. Nice to see some info on them.

Looks like Stephan is doing Pyromania (5.13, California Needles) in that pic. Highly unlikely he placed any of the "WEIRD NUTS" on that route.
