To be honest I really don't know much about his history.

But I can't help but notice that his comments are some of the funniest on the taco. There's a sense of humor that is unmistakable. Especially of late (maybe I'm just noticing more because of the dirty dozen that I've greased).

This one made me laugh....

Reilly is one of the sharpest wits on ST-----and he even has a collection of old climbing images and stories to match.

I think he is the real----and a very fun deal

Even though he is an U of Washington ex-athelete, and those folks just recruited away the best-ever college football coach in our forlorn state.

Or a climber who thinks this is how it's done?

I have always enjoyed his wit and deep knowledge about many things. Check out his mad skillz on the birding thread. Hoping to find our way back out for another urban birding adventure this year with you and the others!

Damn, my friendly Christian Syrian beer purveyor put me onto a new Belgian tonite called
'Witches Brew'. When I saw this thread I got really worried that I'd been set up by Hamid.
I suppose it is too late for an emetic, either medical or digital.

Oh, Brennan, yer photo is upside down - the hat goes on top, don't it?

To quote the honoree himself
..., nice shot of 'my' wall!
Said tongue probably firmly in cheek, but he did one of the early ascents (2nd?) of Willis Wall, a balls out NE face of Rainer up the center of the photo. There is some objective danger.

But his real fame is a photo of a Magellanic Woodpecker that you'll have to look through the birds thread to find.

My pleasure to chip in here.

I have tipped a few with the man, although not recently. We will have to remedy that.
When I think of Reilly, I think of Rainier and the PNW; Jim Wickwire,
Lou and Jim Whittaker, Dusan Jagersky and my friends, gone but not forgotten, Chris Kerrebrock and Marty Hoey.
However, he is a complex man, well read and sharp wit.
I'm happy to call him a friend

it had ocurred to me, on several occasions, that just such a thread
was pending in a big way. like an impossibly huge cornice kind of way.

Reilly; Well read, sharp wit, playing around, skilled reader and user of meta-messages and understatement, seldom put off by them, seldom seeing ghosts where they're not, usually kind, loves to go off topic where the cool topics are... He could be praising you, he could be kicking your ass, it's never easy to know ... if that matters to you...
