Ironic you should say Republicun, Werner!

I "discovered" this archicle in a 1955 AZ Hwy mag. The arch in question is called Kolb Arch and is in Grand Canyon's Nankoweap.

It was originally hidden from stupid humans until spotted from the air by Senator Barry Goldwater (Rep. AZ), LBJ's old "arch enemy" from the 1964 presidential election.

He flew in by helicopter and he and his pilot friend hiked in to view it.

As is readily apparent, he named it Kolb Arch (not to be confused with Kolob Arch in Zion).

And Magic Ed, that's so sad about your fallen arch. Flat feet can be hell, I'm sure.
