16 on the big ledge below final pitch of Cathedral Peak. There was a sloooow party of 3 ahead. We were the next pair and topped out at 4 or 5 PM. It is easy to bypass the summit at this point, but we had plenty of time and were happy to take in the view. Lord knows what time the rest of them finished - they seemed less keen to get off the standard route.

6 including my partner and myself. But... after nipping @ a Japanese teams' heals for 2 days we met at camp 4 on the Nose, coming over from Tripple Direct was a German Team and just leaving camp 4 was a mexican team and an New Zealand team. We ate and rested for a bit and left the Japanese guys there so the Germans could come over. The Mexis' had a portaledge with them and the N.Z.'s claimed they would go to camp 6 so we decided to head to camp 5 to leave the Japs' and the Germans to snuggle @ camp 4. Well upon arriving at camp 5, the Mexis' hung there ledge on the first set of anchors 1 ft' above a perfect ledge for 2, and the N.Z. did'nt go to camp 6 they occupied all the other ledges, the biggest and best ledge was taken by a N.Z. and he said not big enough for 2. So my partner slept on that lower ledge "the bathroom" sticky/ stinky as hell due to piss and I rigged a little anchor and slept on tension to the right of the N.Z. ledge, you know the one that is about 4 ft' long and shaped like a crescent moon. Brutal nights sleep, I did however clean up all kinds of cams the internationals left behind! Oh the price of fun!!

2 on Sous le Toit, stupid me and my stupid partner. Do not stop at Sous le Toit!!! Not a fun night.

9 on Dinner, but 3 went away. Fortunately.

There's the story (Mick Fowler I believe) about the Golden Pillar of Spankit or whatever it's called. Two of them slept hanging in their harnesses off a single nut. Not a ledge, exactly, but you probably can't get any worse than that.

I was on Mescalito a few years ago while Leo Houlding was trying to work out a free ascent of Early Morning Light. Anyway one night he threw a party on Lay Lady Ledge (we were bivied a ways above them). They must have had 15 or 20 people up there. They kept us up most of the night with their revelry but it was fun... One couple, sounded like spaniards, decided to rap off about 1:00 AM and had an epic. Anyone out there who was up there that night?

Once upon a time lost arrow spire- an attempt at the record# of persons. at the time it was said to be 20 something. Got 10 or 15 out there via tyrollean and had everyone AND the rig clipped to the jingy early eighties pre asca anchor. I vaguely remember a couple of rusty star drives and a lot of bad webbing. when people started clipping in to other people, those of us who were relatively sober called it off and started the massive bail out. very sketchy. Some of you folks may have been there.

and once upon another time- the Corbett wellman ascent of the shield. When they blasted there was a huge party on mammoth terraces. Huge meaning Mike and Mark, camera crew, riggers, a scruffy entourage of beer-toting locals, friends and hangers on. Don't know the exact count but I'd say 10-12.

We did Lost Arrow Tip the other day. There was a party of 10, our party of 3, and another group of 2 all crammed on the Salathe ledge at the top of the first pitch. It made for an interesting day as all the parties shared Tyrolean ropes and the 3 leaders clipped each others gear through runners on lead. So i guess we had 15 people on Salathe ledge it was pretty crazy for sure. The top of the spire ended up a bit packed as well.

Not really a ledge but a "summit"...about 500 on Whitney. they were having a freakin' wedding on the summit when my head popped up over the top of the east buttress. (Don't know actually how many but it was a ton). there was a plane circling the summit taking wedding pics!

14 I think,just a couple weeks ago on Mammoth ledges,it was a super hero costume party.When I jugged up,they were playing twister-hahahahaha....

1 sketchy guy who I thought might die...Hey,that rhymed...
I passed out at sunrise, about an hour later,I wake up to being pulled of the ledge,a guy whom I will not name was down below vomiting and pulling on the rope I was clipped into,so he could have slack cause he was vomiting on the ledges.I told him if he pulled on my rope one more time I was going to beat him within an inch of his life.
Then I just uncliped from the rope and moved over right next to the wall, slept like a baby until the sun hit me at 11:am. bailed with a hangover, bummer.

Sixon the party ledge (about the size of a king size matterss, though proportioned differently) on Ancient art. But I think the Larry has me beat at 12!

I try to avoid this type of thing, but sometimes it's unavoidable when at work...
