Finally, the So Cal Road Trip Vol. 2 is done. I send it to the printers on Monday. Should be in the stores by June ready for summer vacations...

Big Thanks! to all involved who helped make this book happen. Meeting you and hanging out and climbing was the best part about this 8 year journey.

Over 60 crags from the Slo/Kern midway down to Mexican border.
Time to hit the road...

Feel free to guess the two cover photos (crag, route).

You put Bart Dome in there. I thought I was the only person to climb there in the last decade. I forgive you. Nice work on it.

Congratulations Slater! Looks like an awesome book and I know it took you a lot of work.

The Northern California guide is great and I'm sure this one will be quality as well.

Now that it's completed hop in your truck, we're meeting at 9am at the Pizza Factory. So see you there...

It's a minor thing, but I hate seeing the High Desert route listed as Carousel. When we originally toproped it we called it Desert Carnival. When it was first led by Josh Fairchilds, after placing some lousy split rawls he didn't change the name. Troy Mayr got the name wrong in his guide and the name stuck. But it's still wrong, and still irks me.

ps: The guide book looks awesome. I can't wait to pick up a copy and peruse it. So much has been added in the years since I last purchased a guide that covered all these areas.

pps: DrelJefe- I thought the same thing about the shot of T-crack. I did a lot of my early climbing in SB and T=Crack was always a classic.

Looks great, Slater! Maidy has long bemoaned the lack of information/bad information on some of these areas - looking forward to it.

Why is Williamson in there? I assume there was some kind of discussion/rational about it, just curious what that is, since I doubt the government would appreciate it. Did you have dialogue with them about it?

Williamson is just a page with a brief description and is listed as CLOSED to climbing in the guide. I listed the website where people can get involved.I thought it was better to do that than leave it out. It is a good reminder anyway. Cherish what you have and take care of it.

Looks great Tom. Too bad about not including Boxsprings though. Many a ucr student has spent time climbing up there and it is a great crag for easy top ropes on fun moderate/easy routes.

Looking forward to getting the guide!
