On Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at 6 p.m. the Ogden City Council and Mayor Mike Caldwell will honor Jeff Lowe with a Joint Resolution and Mayor Caldwell will present him with a key to the city.

Friends, family and members of the public are welcome to attend this Ogden City Council meeting where Jeff will be honored and a reception to follow at The Front Climbing Gym.

The Ogden City Muncipal Building is located between 25th and 26th Street on the west side of Washington Boulevard. Parking is accessed off of 26th Street and the most direct route to the third floor where the meeting will be held is through the doors on the west side of the building.

This presentation will be the first item on the agenda for the meeting that starts promptly at 6 p.m. and will consist of reading and adoption of a resolution followed by a brief presentation from Mayor Caldwell.

After the presentations there will be a reception with Jeff, family and friends at the Front Climbing Gym at 225 20th St in downtown Ogden from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Please join us to celebrate our friend and his family who have given so much to this community.

If we have neglected to invite someone who would be interested in attending, please feel free to send them an invitation to attend.

Justly deserved! Jeff's accomplishments in climbing are broader based than those of any other American. Bold free climbing, historic alpine routes, cutting edge ice climbs and he is the father of modern mixed climbing.....who else sports a resume as all encompassing?

A number of climbers have awed us with the difficulty of their climbing, Jeff has done that, but, more importantly, he has been an innovator. He has always been a step ahead in ferreting out the possibilities across the whole realm of climbing.

Well done Jeff! The world of climbing is much the better place because of you.

I have seen too many true climbing heros subject to chronic medical difficulties as their lives played out.

Some are prone to describing their travails.
But over the past decade as I have seen Jeff's condition progress I have not heard one whine or whimper from him. As remarkable and extensive as his exploits have been as a climber, the nobility and stoicism that he has always displayed in facing his greatest challenge is to my mind his greatest accomplishment.

I STAND-UP AND APPLAUDE DONINI'S REMARK!!
And give a boisterous " HERE HERE" to the rest!

When I read this thread, all I could do was drop to my knees
doing the wave, singing "I am not worthy. I am not worthy. I am not worthy. "

I always knew that when I read Jeff's name next to a Rte I was going to do,
it would be QUALITY! I especially like The Lowe Rte on Angels Landing!

!!!CHEERS JELLO!!!

Forget a key; he needs a carabiner or perhaps a Rurp to the city. Well deserved and well done.
