Thanks for the info. My pooch is more like a cat, but doesn't kill birds. I would never allow him to molest wildlife, but I could get him to rape Locker though. D.K.

The dogs aren't the problem at the crag, it's the tools who feel the need to throw their rope bag at the base of the route to let you know they are waiting.
When are you going Dan?

Both the Castle and the City are managed by IDPR.
The biggest thing folks seem to have an issue with, is, that dogs are allowed, but, they have to be on a leash no longer than 6-feet. You wouldn't think this would be a deal in some park areas in the backcountry, but, they do a fair number of horsey trips on some of the trails and some of those folks especially don't like to see dogs off leash. Most climbers are pretty cool about dogs there, though.
Was nice weather last Saturday at the Castle!
Dogs are allowed, but, here's their rules:
//Q. May I bring my pet?
A. Pets are welcome in most Idaho State Parks, but some parks prohibit them in some cabins, yurts and they are prohibted from beaches. Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6-feet or confined to a camper. Do not leave pets unattended in a closed vehicle. //
//WHEN YOUR DOG VISITS A STATE PARK. . . .
State parks are full of strange sights,
sounds and smells that may make the
most friendly dog nervous and “nippy.”
To protect your dog and other visitors
please observe the following rules:
‐Keep your dog controlled on a leash no
more than six feet long.
‐Dogs are not allowed in park buildings.
‐For sanitary reasons, dogs are not
permitted on State Park beaches.
‐Keep your dog calm and quiet. Aggressive
or unusually noisy dogs will not be allowed
in the park.
‐To make everyone’s visit to the park more
pleasant, please clean up after your dog.//

Everyone I knew used to let their dogs run wild up there... molesting whatever they could get their mouths on. That was 15-20 years ago... holy sh#t I'm old.

The leash laws are enforced during the day by rangers & some more dog-aggressive climbers, and at night by the abundant Coyotes. The Coyotes make great night-time music at COR.

I leave my dog in a boarding kennel during my climbing trips. Everyone else appreciates my consideration, as I would appreciate yours.

I appreciate ALL nice doggies at the crag.
I'm not sure which I dislike more... the intolerant, self-righteous dog haters... or the aggressive dogs with lazy, nonchalant owners.

holy sh#t I'm old.
And ugly!
Dogs can be slightly less annoying than children, and usually don't grow up to be sh#t heads like me.
