Nope
It's a real nice piece of gear I would love to have.
But $230 is not going to happen for me unless they comp me one .....

I guess this isn't really climbing gear but I do think it's crazier.

It's an industrial descender (13mm version, the gold one is for 11mm rope) and not something you'd likely use for recreational climbing but they are everywhere in the rope access industry. I have about 15 but only 'cause we do rope access stuff. Hey Werner if I get back to the Valley any time soon I'll bring you one... :) Cheers all.

The Edelrid Eddy does this as well - if you pull the handle all the way the cam drops off the handle and re-locks.

Many thanks QITNL... Yeah the ID is basically an industrial GriGri but with a panic clutch and an anti error doohickey that jams it if you try to rap with the rope reeved through the wrong way, plus the body has a becket so you can open the cover and load the rope without disconnecting it from your harness (& dropping it, killing some poor pedestrian below you...). Petzl have a smaller thing called a Rig which is like a halfway between the ID and the GriGri. There are so many industrial descenders coming out from all the manufacturers at the moment it's bewildering...

@Nature.. er.. yup.. that would be the crazier piece of gear.
Edit to add- just watched the promo video for that zig zag "mechanical prussik". That thing is wild!
As for the Petzl I'dL.. The thing is like a grigri on steroids + pulleys and cams and extra widgits and buttons . We've got a friend trying to sell a red I'D if anyone has a use for one. (which is how the subject came up).
