Hi Guys

The Mountaineers took a big risk printing an unkown Brit's books in the US (Psychovertical and Cold Wars), and although it's sold pretty well (for a book were no ropes are cut with knifes, or 8000 metre summits climbed). Anyway they really need some reviews posting - or even some likes - on Amazon.com (got 56 reviews on UK one). If anyone is willing to take the time to do this and then email me, then I'll email you a pdf of my hooking book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hooks-ebook/dp/B008LZRO0A/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1360879094&sr=1-1 - and if you havn't read it, then buy, read it, comment (not if you think it's cr@p) and you can get them same deal : )

Off to try the Russian route on the Eiger on 2 weeks, so offer won't stand if I don't come back (so get writing thoes reviews!)

cheers

Andy, I loved Psychovertical...one of my favorite books. Cold Wars was pretty awesome too. I will go and give some good reviews!

Psychovertical surprised me with its honesty - you made climbing sound like what it often is (hard, dirty, sometimes scary, sometimes boring, and many of those we love can't relate to the need). I was planning to get Cold Wars on my last Amazon order but forgot. When I do I'll write a review for you. [And I'll hold you to a copy of your hooking book!]

Had the family give me copy for Xmas and although I haven't got to it yet, I am looking forward to reading it. It isn't a common book here and I haven't seen it in any bookstores.

Hi Andy, Patrick here, I spoke (well, emailed) with you several years. Psychovertical is a great read and very informative.

Good luck on the Eiger. When in Dublin next, look me up.

Currently reading it. Unfortunately I already have your hooks PDF. I will endeavor to get a review up after I have finished reading Cold Wars though.

I am not letting my future spouse read it though. It's too honest.

Quote from the book....
"Climbing is like a lover, and your wife knows this. Whenever you are together, no matter how much you love your family, your thoughts are only of your lover, climbing."

She will often ask what I am thinking in quiet moments and quite often I am thinking only of getting back on El Capitan. Harsh mistress indeed. Thanks for your honest and engaging writings.

I just ordered a copy, but I warn you Andy, you think that stuff you climb is tough? You haven't heard me mouth off about bad writing. If this book isn't good, reading the review will make you wish you're back on Reticent Wall. [big smiley face!]

Andy-

I finally got around to reading your book. I actually bought your first book and read that before reading Cold Wars. Loved them both. The Boardman Tasker prize for Psycho Vertical was well deserved. I think yours are the best climbing books since Touching the Void. Perhaps you can get somebody to cut the rope and drop you into a crevasse before your next book comes out.

Keep writing so I can buy your next book.
