Despite being in the middle of a drought spell, there have been lots of opportunities to get out into the backcountry and earn some turns. Sometimes the views trump the quality of skiing, but who cares?! Enjoy some clips from some day tours as well as a longer trip into the range. Get stoked for spring touring, it is already here!

Mammoth has quite a bit of snow, but coverage elsewhere is pretty thin. And it hasn't snowed much for a month and a half, so we are beginning to feel the hurt!
Bruce...Our snowpack is fat at higher elevations...Some of our first big storms were heavy rain with snow falling at 9000 feet or higher...The past 6 weeks we have not seen any big storms , only light dustings at the 8000 ft. elevation...But our seasonal average to date is around 90% of normal....RJ
I dig that video skiing down to Reds Meadow. I did that myself years ago. Spent the night though. Had the place to myself other than one other person, and a bear
