RIP girl...
Locker..... thanks for fixing for me....
I love the tight harmony.
The guitar man is pretty good. @ 2.00 rips it up, I wonder who he is?

Well, the good news is that she's now gone well over a year without taking a drink or doing drugs......
....damned talented lady.

"That's low, but oddly funny..."
People often get fired up over sh#t I type cause it doesn't translate well but sometimes you can pull it off in person. For instance, my 40th HS reunion.
Buddy "my cat died and I'm broken hearted".
Me: "hey sorry man ....you know you can get a new one for ten bucks don't ya?
Later, turns out that the dude has been unable to let go of the cat both emotionally and physically so he put the cat in the freezer (his wife confirmed it). I give him my opinion (ie, bury it, grieve, move on before it gets all freeze dried and freezer burned).
5 min later his dads death comes up and he describes how accidentally he learned of it when he was 8 years old, I ask, "hey sorry man....did yer mom pop him in the freezer?"
Buddy:......(long pause).... "Nah, wouldn't fit".

CAT UPDATE Bumped into my old buddy last week at a get together thing. The cat has been stuffed and mounted for a cost of only $800. Old buddy has not had the heart to take it out of the box yet so he can't comment on how the job turned out, but it's only been back from the taxidermist for 4 months or so as of now. Turns out that the dog has died now, but I didn't have the urge to ask if he had freezer space to fit it in.

I was a fairly recent convert to Amy's music, but I managed to snag one of her CDs and later watched a video of her singing "Rehab".
It was heartbreaking listening to the denial dripping through these lyrics and knowing that this talented musician was singing what would soon be her obituary.
What a waste.

There's a new movie out called Amy.
It hasn't been released yet--was in for a showing
in Denver that I missed. But sounds like it will be
pretty good.

Something must have hurt her terribly.
She was in so much pain.

Not necessarily. Some personality types just feel pain esp. Existential pain as a part of their normal reality. No less sad though.

It's in limited release; starts playing in San Diego this Friday at the Ken theater. I think I mighta heard there's an honest-to-god biopic in the hopper as well?

Amy's talent was recognized long before her death. Mourning the loss of an artist of her stature is not a character flaw - it is a sign of one's humanity.
Unless I'm actually happy that someone famous has died, I try to keep my mouth shut unless I want people to think that I'm an insensitive prick.

Saw the excellent documentary last week. Her talent was very rare.
A terrible loss.

My friend Kylee, who is a semi-professional singer, NAILS an Amy Winehouse song at karaoke.
It always scares me half to death when I hear her sing it.
The In Utero album by Nirvana was like that, for me. It was too raw, too real and too prophetic.
