Perhaps it's standard for the chp to take notes when their helicopters are used?

Thank god Fatty doesn't work as a CHP dispatcher.
Surely he must know that all 911 calls are direct to CHP dispatchers.

partner: "My friend's fallen and is in bad shape, he'll need a rescue!"
fatty: "Has he fallen onto the highway?"
partner: "No, Big Chief, it's between Truckee and Squaw.
fatty: "Uhh, sorry, what part of HIGHWAY PATROL, don't you get? *hangs up*

michaled,

I know that calls go to CHP first, I'm just surprised that CHP took the report, usually handed off to local jurisdiction. Just like I handed off every auto accident report I could to CHP.

I was belaying on a route 15 or 20 feet away when he fell. I heard someone giving a lesson to a beginner belayer on how to use the GriGri in that direction. I assume this was probably his belayer, but I can't to say for sure. I was paying more attention to my partner. The next time I looked over was when he was falling. He was top-roping at the time. I decided to check the boards to see if anyone had any info on how he was doing.

If it was a CHP chopper, probably CHP medic on board. The medic would include the "what happened" in the records, no?
