From The island of Tortola, one can get a ride to V. Gorda.
I was able to get Hired on trading working;
Cooking on board for travel. . . ( ho - to be young again!)

The island hoping in the BVI, is world famous.

It is a well known Yachting destination. When I was there 30 Y'Rs ago the "Baths"; where
the surf meets all those boulders, were a daily outing for boats with tourists, but the island was almost undeveloped. That sure looks to have changed.

There is a swell island that has a Yacht club that also has land lubber accommodations.
Very pricey but if you have it, Peter Island is where to make a base camp for diving, climbing and island hoping.

Sweet brother of chipping fools! This is some how. A product of the

All the wor ld is the rock crushers oyster!

Back in the early 1980s when I went climbing there, commercial flights were available from San Juan directly to Virgin Gorda. Too bad such flights are not available anymore.

It was very expensive back in the 1908s, too. We paid $250/night for barely-acceptable accommodations. Other hotels on Virgin Gorda were charging $1,200/night. You could get a tiny room at the marina for $50/night (but I heard the cockroaches were bad). Basic breakfast (eggs, toast & bacon) was $20 per person, dinners were $50 per person (for something like jerk chicken and rice).

Next time I would book a guest house and buy groceries at the commissary.

There is also real roped climbing and some decent surf, depending on the season. Generally expensive.

I believe I flew direct from San Juan also when I went there (10 or 15 years ago); smallest commercial flight I've ever been on (pilot, me, and my traveling companion). Plane may have stopped somewhere, I'm not sure.
It looks like now there's a 20 minute stop on another little island before you get to VG, so what?
