Way to go Stewie!

Looks like the ice is coming in fat...

1931, Awesome. That's 80 years ago. I wonder how long it took just to get to Convict Lake back then.

Great trip report!

John didn't have to deal with a rock or ice step.
The next time we go climbing I'm going to rip that red and white Flag off your jacket. Did you put one on your backpack?. Down with the queen or something like that.

Good job buddy glad your ok.

Way to get on it.

If you don't do it now, it could a decade (or more) until it's this good again.

Hi Stewie-

What was John's story?

Did anything come down while you were climbing?

Stewart -- Nice work! Your lake pic especially.

Brian -- On Wednesday-June 8 it was warm up there - the ice was pretty soft (good sticks, but rotting), there was some rockfall (mostly marble-sized or smaller, but some the size of softballs), and the snow slopes above the ice pitch got some pretty intense sun. The mid-day descent had sloppy snow and avi debris here and there from small slides. Summer seems to be making its appearance.

Hi Stewart - fixed it and removed the dc and other references in my earlier post. My apologies for my insensitivity. Personally, I prefer calling the route the Morrison "Northwest Couloir" or the "Y Couloir" over that other label.

Cheers!

Stewart - thanks for the kind hope, but we did initially follow your tracks off the top... made the descent a bit more interesting.
