Jonas, my nephew through marriage came to visit us from Hanover by way of a student year abroad in Florida. He reminded me that both places are pretty flat, and when St Patrick's Day 2011 dawned clear and even sunny, I dragged us up to Index to tromp around.

First though a stop at the Reptile Museum.

Then a little further up the road towards Index we get my favorite view of Baring.

Then the N. Face of Index and Persis.

Then onto Index and up towards Toxic Shock.

Even Steven and Toxic Shock cracks.

And now it's pouring again and he's on his way back to Florida.

OK, I have to admit that I could look at "Road to Lucille" and the Woodson threads a long time, but is this thread really that bad?

Anyway here are some of Jonas' photos.

man I love index, great pics. I was bouldering up there yesterday but our visit was cut short by my buddy fracturing his ankle. Be wary of stumps under pads, everyone have a safe spring!

Luscious Pacific Northwest Dar! Any shots from inside the Reptile Zoo and Living Museum? That had to be fun. Also liked the Cobra Totem!! Jonas doesn't climb? Also I think it is time for a closer shot of you!

It did get up to 65 in Seattle on Saturday, but then fell back to normal. Unfortunately, it takes more than one nice day to dry things out at Index.

The sun managed to come out for a few days last week! Already got 3 days of climbing in there and tomorrow will be 4. Index actually dries much faster than most people think (a few hours of sun). My rule is if the pavement is dry the climbing is good to go. Maybe not the crack routes but definitely the face route. (which makes up at least half of the climbing at Index)

OK, this is from Halloween 2010. I've been a Giants fan since around 1960 and this somewhat dishonest photo (I still have hair, but it's grey and that's a Cher wig") is titled "Lincecum at 57" (actually the real Lincecum at 57 photo had "him" toking, but I really don't do that).

Well that ^^^ shut down the thread! I would delete that photo for being too dumb, but I guess ST-social mores don't allow us to do that.

The nephew-in-law, Jonas, is following in his fathers footsteps and has a group called the Planetoids. This is their first video. The landscape is Germany.
