Is there a single definitive source that tracks climbing (speed) records around the world?

What would be the point? I mean REALLY!

It's not like climbing can be compared to world records in track and field where a "wind-aided" record is disallowed. Conditions are SO VARIABLE.

To me, what's most important is the subjective experience of the climb itself to whomever has experienced a climb.

Though not a big deal by today's "standards," when Bridwell and I completed the first one-day ascent of Quarter Domes, I had a wonderful sense of satisfaction sitting at the top of the last pitch, looking down Tenaya Canyon in the fading light as the Firefall streamed down the face of Glacier Point. How could these feelings be truly compared to another's? I know that many others here have had similar feelings, completing their own climbs, and those are partly what create the bonds that we have here or wherever climbers gather or meet.

Hans' website is pretty useful for Yosemite:

http://www.speedclimb.com/yosemite/

Nothing outside of Yosemite is worth keeping track of.

I'd try Hans site http://www.speedclimb.com/ and go from there.

It's USA centric, but probably a link or contact for what your looking for. What are you looking for?

Digging through some vinyl and uncovered this "climbing record". Possibly the worlds worst climbing record (is that on topic enough?)

The band was out of Riverside and the ambum was released in 1980. Was someone in the band a climber, and where was the picture taken. Rubideaux or JT I suspect.

The title track, caution, it is bad
