Inspired by the Soviet-Sputnik thread and my own need to lighten my load of Stuff, I'm wondering what the best strategy would be to sell some old newspapers such as these:

E-Bay? Are there more historical auctions? It was recommended that I sell my old Indian baskets at an auction house in S.F. Other ideas?

Nice stuff, Rodger! I have a copy of our local newspaper from the Moon landing in July 1969 - its proper name is "The Vancouver Sun", but for that day, they changed it to "The Moon".

Try Fleabay. Those folk will buy anything. Collectors of various stripes consult it a bunch, too. I bet you'll sell it.

Hi Ken. I think I've got the answer for you. I see a lot of guys selling newspapers on streetcorners here in Seattle. A buck each. A buck. For something that's probably not worth more than fifty cents!!! Don't know how many papers you've got, but hell, you could probably earn enough to buy a bottle of whiskey. As long as you aren't looking for anything fancy.

Hmmm. Taking another look at those pictures you posted, I'm not sure. Those papers look pretty old. You might have to go down to 75 cents or so.

If selling them doesn't pan out, think of donating them to a historical society and writing them off as a charity donation? I had a few I gave to a history teacher friend to use in his class as the ones I had weren't sellable.

eBay has a category for this stuff:

Boo Person, as Kelly said and then search for newspaper Hawaii statehood and you get four hits, three valid: most of them are $30-$40 each. Go from there.

Christ you and Guido are SO packratty. I bet you have the entire National Geo's too!?

Really cool stuff by the way!

Boo, when do we get a coral arches TR? Didn't you have another tour?
