Thanks for the report. Chris had a big impact on many people myself included. She was an inspiration to many climbers and its tragic that her time was cut so short. RIP.

Tom, all these folks you cross paths with, you have watched over. I know how your heart breaks when something like this happens. An unbelievably moving remembrance. Susan

My condolences to all who knew Chris.
For myself, it's always so sad to find out about someone inspirational only after they have died.

Very well said Tom. I remember meeting her when she came to pick up her pictures at the Bridge after her Shield adventure.

Thanks Tom for writing this. Chris Chan was a very special young lady with a smile that lit up the bridge.

The highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of Chris Chan, just down from the Shield Solo she did over the last 9 days. As she walked across the deck the Crew rose to their feet and gave her a round of applause. She got a chair in the shade and a cold Cobra to wash away the gunk and dryness in her throat. Although filthy, she was as bubbly as ever and told her story to an attentive audience. All the guys wanted to shake her hand and congratulate her. Great stuff!! El Cap Report 9/23/09.
