A climber, Jason Ruble has commited a huge betrayal of our collective trust AND broken the law by stealing from me.

Jason Ruble is an excellent climber and apparently fairly well known in the SE climbing/bouldering community. He has won or placed in numerous comps.
I am asking your help to find him and stop the decimation of our lifestyle and good nature.

My girlfriend and I met Jason in Jtree and spent a week climbing together. He and his girlfriend were then welcomed into our home in northern CA and spent a month being decent houseguest and upstanding people. Jason then turned it all around by stealing my girlfriend's car, my credit card, about $700 in cash and an assortment of climbing and outdoor gear from our home. We recovered the car at the Sacramento airport (after he wrecked it) but he is still out there and likely in the Southeast.

If you know him, know of him or have spoken to him, please let me know or call the Placer County Sheriff at 530.886.5375(case #10-6432). He is wanted for a parole violation and now grand theft. I cannot stand by and watch him destroy an entire lifestyle and belief in a freedom some people may never know. He needs help so please help him stop. This is not the first time!!!
thanks for your time.
Randy
I have photos if you would like to see them. He is known to hang at HP 40 and other local crags...

Bump.

"being decent... upstanding...then turned it all around by stealing..."
I hate that.

Hard to believe it can happen- in YOUR world-
till it happens to YOU.

Maybe a troll, maybe not, maybe two legit sides
to the story, maybe not.

It's a pretty bold troll. Perhaps even borderline libel?

I doubt it's a troll.

If it's untrue, it's unquestionably defamation (libel).

I'm a bit surprised that the original poster didn't provide his own name and contact information.

This isn't a troll

Thanks Randy.

I'll be careful not to invite folks I've known for a week into my home and give them access to my valuables.

"Why would someone assume its a troll?"

Because we've seen trolls like this before- individuals who had some kind of altercation with someone for reasons not fully disclosed that take their grievance to a public place where they try to slander someone and get even. Relatively common, actually.

Don't think that's the case here (though more details would be helpful), but it's understandable why some would see this as a troll.

If I met someone, climbed with them for a week and thought that they were cool, I wouldn't have a problem letting them stay with me for a couple of days. I suppose that you never know if you're going to get burned or not but why not give the person the benefit of the doubt? If you do then you stand to possibly benefit in the future as well. In the least you get a new climbing partner.

If what the dude says is true then he just plain old got screwed; but, he did take what seems to be a very acceptable risk in letting these people into his home. I'm pretty sure I would have done the same except one month seems a little excessive.
