There are a bunch, and prices differ by as much as $20 sometimes. Anyone have favorites?

I'm from California, so keep that in mind. I want good rubber (C4) and just need half soles, but want to send like 3 pairs in. So... what'cha ya got?

The Rubber Room in Bishop does stellar work.

They are professionals and it shows.

Highly recommended.

Call them they have an 800 number and are very friendly.

I agree Rubber Room is the best. If you live in the Bay Area Marmot in Berkeley does a fairly good job. They do 1/2 soles of C4, slightly cheaper than RR and you don't have to deal with mailing your shoes.

I've never had that happen & I must have had 6 or 7 pairs resoled there...on the other hand you may be a heavier user than I am

I live in California and only resole at two places--both out of state but cheap and fast...

does everything! not just climbing shoes

I've always been happy with the work they do and after years of hearing various people complain about marmot and rubber room, I'm not likely to change from what I've always liked.

good luck!

my rule has usually been to buy shoes if I find a brand name for under $50. It happens, not often, but it does. So paying $40 is alright, but paying $35 is better, and it seems like the more you do at once the cheaper because the shipping is more cost effective. RR is good, but the most expensive. I saw free shipping... that caught my eye! But I know, people gotta make a living too so I gotta support their trade. Thanks! Any other suggestions/opinions are welcome! Medusa... I'll be at Malibu Crk. Saturday!

Rubber Room does not get a vote from me. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I have had a FEW pairs delam very soon. Some in just one day! Never again and now I just buy new ones on sale and toss the old ones away.

Barry Chambers / Barry's Resoles, Auberry CA. Best ever, shoes come back better than new. No one else gets my shoes ever...

Evolv will only do their own rubber (makes sense) so if you don't mind trax, they can hook you up for like 25 bucks. Cheap resole, and the mythos I have been climbing on they did a FANTASTIC job.

Pat in Joshua Tree is also picking up resoles outta Nomad Ventures, I don't have any experience with him, but he's been in the business lotta years, and is a really REALLY cool dude.

Is Pat Positive Resoles? They have done good work in the past when I was traveling out that way last year.

The best I have ever had done:

Barry's Resoles

Auberry, Ca

The best attention to detail I have ever seen. Barry will talk to you, it becomes like a friend helping you..my shoes seem better after resoling by Barry. Give him a call and he will hook you up. And he includes a mint in every box of resoles.

tom at Marmot in berkeley has done all kinds of climbing shoes for me, especially good with straight old school trad shoes, and also he can resole approach shoes. Great craftsmanship!

Have never had shoes done by Barry, but SO many swear by his abilities. Met him climbing last weekend - class act. AND, you could pick up your shoes next time you are out at Shuteye, Tollhouse, or Courtright.

Barry's Resoles rules!

I've used Dave Page Cobbler too and was totally satisfied.

The Rubber Room is flat out, the bomb. I've been dealing with them for decades, since Wilson's days.
Probably 50 resoles, personally and who knows how many batches of rentals for Rocksport, and Never, ever, a dud!

How's that footwork, Medusa?

I'll put in my 2 cents for Yosemite Bum. They have probably done my last dozen resoles and every one has been great.
