Ryan,

That looks like Pete on the far right. Is your friend from New Paltz in the center or on the left?

I'm not sure Eddie is his real name, it might be. I know he used to write as Eddie on the Gunks website, so you could probably find him there. I don't recall having any email correspondence with him, but might. I remember him because he talked about putting a signature on his postings, it was something to do with hooks. Something like "dreaming of hooks". He told me how excited he was about his signature, and that he was going to change it next month.

Now Steve, hmmmm. I don't have my Reid guide with me, but conceivably there is a name and contact number or email in it? Steve-O.

I'm not going to find either of these guys in my email, unfortunately, because my email address has changed. I know that photo was taken BITD when I was Curry-based, around 2000, and I've been Village-based ever since.

Those photos were taken at "Camp 5", the bear boxes in the middle of the Curry Village parking lot. I think I was a bit too vocal on RC.com telling people they could find me there, and it turned into something of a climbers' hangout.

We used to be able to padlock our gear in there, but then they put up signs saying we could no longer do it. I figure I am personally responsible for buggering it up, and no longer write about such things.

After Camp 5, I moved about a hundred yards south and took up residence on the south side of the parking lot, about 75 yards east of the Mountain Shop. [and good ol' Ted]

But I have bitchin'er digs now in Yos. Village. So email me - the McTopo email system works fine - and come by for a beer in May and June, eh?

Tell Steve-O I say hi, and good luck finding Eddie.

And, good luck in finding a great photo from a place like Noob.com, looking for a great photo of Pete.

I tried.

I also went to some other websites . . . .

None successful.

"Is Pete there?"

"Not in the sense you mean."

ANTON:

"What is the most you ever lost in a coin toss?"

"I, I really couldn't say."

"Call it."

"I really don't know."

"Call it."

"I haven't, really put up anything, yet."

"Yes. You have. You've been putting it up your whole life.
Only, you didn't know it.
Call it."

"Well, I have to know what I stand to win."

"You stand to win everything."

"Well, I guess, then . . . .heads."

SLAP!

"Well done!"

"No! Don't it put into in your pocket. That is your lucky quarter.
If it gets mixed into your change, it will just be another coin.
Which it is."

If I were a movie monster, on Halloween, I would want to be Anton Chigurh.

I'd sand-paper a big beer can, to look like a silencer on the end of a fake shotgun.
