I moved out to boulder in August last year after many visits to one of my friends and most notably for the fact that I was promised a job there. Since August I have been finding out that there is an incredible amount of rock here. People kept telling me that, but until you actually get out there and try to explore; you don't really get how vast the potential is.

Anyway, since mid august, me and a random assortment of my driven and dedicated highlining friends have established just under 25 new highlines in the boulder area. Most of which do not use bolts, some of which do not even use trad gear, and a good amount that don't use bolts, gear, or trees.

I have been working on rigging creatively and trying to find lines that are not only high, long, and really exposed, but also aesthetic pleasing.

This video is just a little edit of some of the footage that shows one of our most incredible and newly established highlining area near boulder. Located at the entrance to El Dorado Canyon is the bastille, a rock with a few famous trad routes around 5.8 - 5.10. on the backside of it is bliss for highlining. check it out

Eldorado Canyon has a long history of High Lines and Tight Ropes.

There was a feature in a mag just recently. Can't remember which one.

I'm curious - are there any slackline forums or websites?

What do you use for anchors if you arent using bolts, cams, nuts, or trees? Are you slinging boulders?

Yeah, I guess i am just slinging boulders... But the video is supposed to be used to help legalize highlining in Boulder Canyon, which it is not currently.

Unfortunately, slacklining and highlining both fall into the category of "erecting a structure--Permanent or temporary." This is also why people cant set up hammocks, pinyatas, etc.

However-- by just slinging boulders you can open up many possibilities for rigging with zero impact to the environment. This is what the Open Space Mountain Parks in Boulder, CO need to start to understand.

Hopefully by the end of the year we will have legalization under certain premises.

They legalized weed, I don't see why they couldn't legalize slacklines. Or hammocks, I'm really good at hammocks- slacklines not so much.
