Got so sick of hearing Killis saying "tssaah."

Misty is cool as sh#t. To quote THE American Legend... "I'd do her."

Killis is a mp.com regular and well known Vegas local. One could argue Killis and Misty are cool/not cool of course. But it appears Killis was labeled a gear thief. He explains an incident at the VRG that appears to be the basis of this rumor. Since Killis is rather outspoken on climbing forums, he attracts negative attention.

I don't know Killis, but anyone who stirs up sh#t as a regular contributor to a forum and starts a post out with:

Not a follower of blogs (I have a girlfriend and read books)...

kinda sounds like a King Douche.

Hey, does Killis climb with Rick the Dick? If so, those fuks tried to rip my friends draws off in RR. When confronted they started trying to drop names to get off the hook. Weak!

I don't know, but he does mention the Red in one of his previous posts. So what were the particulars of that incident?

I'll have to remember that name once I move to Vegas,
so I know WHO not to climb with.

As an expert in these matters I'm going to have to say that Killis is in the lead with his calculated response and that this sport climber Misty chick is doing exactly what one would expect from a chick- nagging.

That's just my honest personal analysis. If you don't like it, feel free to disagree respectfully.

He mentions the Red? Wow, what a world traveler and seasoned sport climber!

The particulars of the incident with my friend? He was doing a long weekend from SLC. He was at the Pier just before the park closed. He kept falling off the last moves of a 11+ or something and decided to leave his draws on it and come back the next day before heading out. In the morning he saw some dude putting his draws in his pack and asked "Hey, are those my draws? What the fuk?"

The response was something like "in Vegas, draws on anything easier than 5.13 are considered free." My friend was pissed and said "that's not how they do it in SLC, or anywhere else I have climbed." Rick and the other dude started dropping SLC names, apparently in an attempt to prove they weren't posers. It didn't work. The dude gave the draws back and said something to the effect that: if anyone leaves draws on anything easier than 5.13 in Vegas, he would take them.

Sounds like the "ethics" Killis seems to tout.

Pate, but Misty makes music and has a smokin' bod. I'd give her a point for that. Besides, anyone who tries to justify stealing other climber's gear, whether on a route or just simply left behind, is a douche bag. What kind of "community" member takes other people's gear?

On the flip side, I have no problem cleaning up 10 year old weathered tat and not trying too hard to figure out who it belongs to... but that is different.

This is another pretty active thread going on right now over there.

I have no dog in any of this, but it's interesting to compare/contrast the ideas (stolen draws vs stolen pads)

Think I'm going to have to go with Misty on this (even though I could care less).
You have to give her points for posting up in her own blog rather than feeling a need to drag her personal sh*t with this guy onto a public forum where everyone has to see it. Too bad the KD couldn't follow suit and start his own blog to respond.

I love the climbing community. People say things like this:

"You must be a child molester because you can only climb 5.10 on top rope."

Somehow a persons climbing ability or desire to lead somehow reflects upon their complete personality and lifestyle?

For the sake of God people, a persons ability to climb below or above 5.10 and their desire to top rope or lead with gear has NOTHING to do with their morals, ethics, or ability to be a child molester or porn star. It's fine to condemn a persons actions but to then suggest that they are even lower because of how they climb is immature. Extremely immature.

Dave

P.S. I climb 5.10 on top rope so my option is meaningless. That and I'm not skinny.

fattrad, I'd pay for a shot at these two clip-up posers. They'd be crying themselves to sleep.

My point wasn't so much the ethics, if you can call them ethics. Taking any gear is pretty lame. What happened to the days of hanging found gear on an obvious tree branch so that if the owner came back looking it would be easier to find?

My point was that her initial diss came out like nagging PMS, like nails on a chalkboard. She should have hired you to write her disses wes. Possible career move for you? I hear it's pretty lucrative. Typically, she takes weak shots at off subject stuff, much like a female 'participant' on this site does. Lame. Although his insults weren't exactly succinctly written, he did a better job of painting her black than she did him.

I learned long ago it in debate club that it isn't about the topic, it's about the brawl. You can still win an argument even if you don't believe in it.

All in all, they're both way homo and that feud ain't nothing compared to an ST meltdown.

I have to agree. Taking draws off of a climb in another state and claiming "that's what we do in Vegas" is really weak. Negative points for Killis on that one. There must be atonement for that.

I went to the Red with Crimpergirl and really enjoyed hopping on a 5.12 I had no hope of getting past six or so draws. No sweat, they were there when I got there! So you just lower off and split. Sure, it's an outdoor gym feel, but so what? It's sport climbing.

I never intended to pick sides in this as it was. Just enjoying some happy slander on a cold, snowy day.

Oh, and not returning a Gri Gris to a guy that forgot it and then later asked for it is super weak. I would gladly give back any of the booty cams, draws, etc. I have cleaned off trad routes over the years if someone had a claim on them. Although, they are getting pretty beat up now.
