Have to say, there have been times when I saw an interesting thread, but then skipped to the last page and saw that the thread has digressed into some complete spin off unrelated to climbing or anything else resembling the original post, where an "on-topic" post would seem out of place. Not sure if LEB was generally the culprit though.
EDIT: from the length of this thread already (250+ posts in a few days), it's pretty clear that there's plenty of folks who, like moths to the flame, will engage in any sort of pointless commentary no matter what the topic, so there's no way to pin it all on LEB, though LEB clearly has got a good knack for eliciting a response from just about anything and anyone!

I have disliked her in the past, but I don't really care anymore. Besides, I finally got my "ignore this user" button to work.

I like LEB.
1) she annoys the cr@p out of everyone.
2) and most important...how may people have the cajones to jump into the middle of a 300 post thread and ask for someone to recap the whole argument because they don't want (or "have time", whatever) to read all of the posts. This way they can give an "informed" opinion. But if you don't know what's going on, how can you have a desire to give an opinion? Makes me crack up every time I see her ask for a recap. I know it's time to buckle up!

I don’t know Lois the person, only Lois the persona as displayed here on the Taco. She’s like public access TV. Always has an opinion, but only sometimes relevant. Entertaining in kind of campy way. Queen of the non sequitur. Has the ability to put any thread into a Y-turn. Space cadet extraordinaire. Fun. Annoying. OK by me. But marginally.

I don't have a problem with LEB posting. She is polite, she doesn't tend to make personal attacks on people, simply because she strongly disagrees with them. She is a civil advocate for her positions, even when she is unable to objectively support them. I suspect she sometimes trolls.
I'm sure that she knows a lot more about climbing than she used to.

I suspect that LEB represents the thinking of a lot of America. I would describe it as irrational, but the fact is that those people elected GWB, twice, when I thought that was impossible. She obviously represents a segment that we in Cal do not understand.
I think gaining insight into her thinking is illuminating.
