Well now if we could get 8 different people to analyze this useless poll we could get 8 different useless opinions as to what it means.

I'll give my analysis free of charge.

It's scary how conservative a forum those one is!

You''d hink with the high percent of college grads (I think) there are here it would skew farther left.

From highway 5, already in progress.!

What do you mean we don't know? You've got the data, tell us.

While you are at it tell us how many people voted for bush II and would change.

I don't want to be a party-pooper or harsh anyone's mellow, but this poll does not necessarily tell us *anything* about the people of ST. The findings are not based on a probability sample and therefore is not necessarily generalizeable to the population of ST. It only tells us about those folks who were inclined to and who chose to participate in the survey. And those folks may or may not represent accurately ST participants.

That's all. But seriously, carry on and have fun with it.

5. Would you change your vote in 2009 if you could?

Yes 26.6% (21)
No 73.4% (58)
6 people skipped the question

Over 1/4 of the people would change their vote in retrospect. Of course, we don't know how those people voted in 2009 but it is food for thought, at very least.

Apart from local and a few state elections, no one in the US voted in 2009. There were very few elections for congress or the senate, and of course none for president.

I get it, it was a trick question, to see if anyone was paying attention.

Again - I don't want to imply it is not interesting or fun or anything like that.

And I also will say that we cannot conclude that women lurk in significant numbers at all. It may be that women were more inclined than men to participate and this is why the numbers looks like that. Or it could be that one woman participated a bunch of times and that is why the results look like that. Or it could be that by virtue of luck it perfectly represents the gender make-up of ST. Because it is a sample that folks self-select into, be can't really conclude anything. But one can have fun with it nonetheless.

Wrong again. Independent does not mean equadistant from either party. It means not aligning with either one. In my own case it means that Democratic party slipped way down to the right.

And yeah of course it's just an amusement, NTTAWWT!

"The poll is very close to what I think the makeup of taco is."

As ridiculously simplistic as the questions were in this poll, and as pathetically small the cross-section of participants, I'd still say it doesn't surprise me in the least. As a matter of fact, if the poll was conducted more comprehensively, I'd still expect that the Rep/Dem divisions would look something similar.

Which completely debunks your (Lois's, and many other Repugs) long-standing assertion that ST is dominated by a bunch of long-haired socialist nazi liberals.

Now that we've settled this once and for all, any chance that you and the rest of the ST Repugs drop all the BS about how you are the lone Repug in a sea of libs?

"Pretty much, then, it is the independents who are probably going to determine the outcome of the next election."

Duh. Duh. Duuuuhhhhh.

No fecking DUUUUUHHHHHH!!!!!

The only people that don't realize this are the ones who sit on one extreme or the other, convinced that all of the world sees things exactly the same way they do. They are the ones who are awe and dumbstruck when elections or policy decisions do not fall squarely within their tiny, narrow window on the world...and tend to rally their similarly-narrow minded cohorts for the next tea party.

Daphne's driving, Joe, but at this rate she could be posting as well. Though we, as responsble Californians all know that that would wrong! Except for Maria!

Lois, if you pay any attention at all to my criteria, what else could I be but an indendent, by definition?
I'm hardly a Marxist! -though someone I recently mentioned to you (no names) is! Point being, there are a lot of people way left of me. Then, way, way over on the right, Practically Indistinguishible, are the demo/ republic parties... you take a Very, narrow view and imagine you are seeing the spectrum.
When you wake up, look up the concept, 'independent.' It's a term you are usng speciously and innaccurately one that you do not uderstand. It's not centerest, or right, or left. in fact has nothing at all, to do with predicting who one might vote for....

major flaw in this so-called "poll" would be that lowest ran it, and MANY would have ignored it due to that fact alone (myself included), so don't go off counting your chickens...
