I was thinking of new ways to support my climbing dirtbag addiction and was curious to see what other slummers are doing. Im not talking about what job you do so you can go on a trip once in a while. I wanna know how climbing bums make descent funds to keep going. I know some play online poker. I use to show up at construction sites and lump S*** around the job site. Lately ive been doing clinical studies. Thought it would be a fun topic.

i fluctuate between dirtbag-aholic

and professional wingnut.

my stints vary, but looking backward they usually last about 4 years.

currently im in my fourth year working full time.

definately feeling due for some aimless time.

but i've kids now.

and their mouths are open quite frequently.

Los Angeles City fireman going on 20 plus years now. Lots of time off, cant imagine a much better job for a avid climber.

I have always been involved in the ski/climb business in one way or another or I could not afford the gear, especially skiing!

currently I own a gear shop-or more appropriately the gear shop owns me!

I was alot happier being an employee as opposed to owner!
Never truly understood the term "middle man" until ownership!

Marry a woman who is smart enough to make the big bucks, but not quite smart enough to figure out what you're up to.

The term "sabertooth" is a paradox as, the best you can say is that they have none.
