With record temps in town and no AC, I shut down the machines and went to Marshall Gulch with Split Climber. Had such a nice evening out there that I think I'll go again tonight. Perhaps he'll send "Cetus" the low-sand/low-tide roof cave crack. There are so many problems here, way more than the 10 listed. Because the sand is transient the problems may change after every high tide. If you are driving past Bodega Bay and can see the mud flats in the bay, Marshall is good to go. If you can't, keep driving. This is an excellent evening/afternoon location, is dog and kid friendly and offers good surf fishing for rock fish, and there is a seasonal waterfall in the south cove. Perfect place for a picnic/bbq/bouldering session, and is somewhat protected from the coastal winds. There are three coves with good rock, all to the south of the Marshall Gulch parking lot. Bring a crash pad for the few rocks, a nylon brush and an old towel are helpful to wipe wet sand from your shoes.

Though this place is temperamental, when its in shape, it such an awesome location and good, interesting climbing. So I give it four stars for best case scenario conditions.
